Planning & Design

The Portland Plan is a 25 year strategic plan for the city of Portland.  It will be used to update Portland's Comprehensive Plan and the various implementation tools like the zoning code and zoning map. The BCA expects to suggest our own ideas about improving the Buckman neighborhood. We welcome your input in this process. If you have suggestions, please use the comment section below.

Portland Plan workshops were held in the fall of 2010. The expectation is that a draft plan will be circulated for review and comment
in the first quarter of 2011. Additionally, work on the revised Central City Plan began in the summer of 2010. The downtown area is to be divided into four areas: NE, SW, NW, and SE. The SE area, which includes the Central Eastside, will be the last phase of the plan.

For information about the Portland Plan, visit the City's Portland Plan website here: http://www.portlandonline.com/portlandplan/index.cfm?c=47906. In addition, various documents related to the Portland Plan and specifically to
planning in Buckman can be found as attachments at the bottom of this page.
